Jennifer Oliva, M.A.

Jennifer Oliva is a freelance professional in the marketing and creative services. She specializes in digital marketing efforts such as brand building, social media marketing, content creation, SEO and SEM, as well as Google Analytics. Prior to starting her own consulting business, Jennifer worked in academia most recently having been a part-time instructor at California State University, Los Angeles teaching Public Speaking. She also has experience with underrepresented and minority high school and elementary students having worked for the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD). 

Jennifer grew up in Santa Ana, the most densely populated Latinx city in Orange County. As a daughter of Salvadoran immigrants she was strongly encouraged to dive into her education in order to have upward mobility and live a better life.

As a product of SAUSD, she went on to attend Orange Coast College where she studied music and composition as well as journalism and communication. She transferred to Cal State LA and graduated with a B.A. in Organizational Communication and Public Relations as well as an M.A. in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Instructional and Strategic Communication.

In her free time, Jennifer serves on the Community Development Commission for the city of Santa Ana where she represents Downtown Santa Ana. As a commissioner, Jennifer wants to encourage and empower her community by focusing on inclusivity, arts, and education. Most recently she served as an Arts and Culture commission and was working on drafting the city’s first public art and mural ordinance to ensure documentation, preservation, and appreciation of art created by Santaneros for Santaneros and for those who visit the Heart of Orange County.
